Well Ike is on his way here. I am at work tonight. It looks as though I will get to go home in the morning and I am basicly on call for Relief once the storm has past. Probably have to work on Sunday. It maybe a catagory 1 by time it gets here, but none the less it is still a hurricane. I just heard an update that he is hitting an area of dry air and is not as organized as he was and will mostly loose strength before hitting landfall. Landfall is set for Galveston~~~50 miles from my house.
We readied the house on Wednseday. I forgot to buy ice. Lloyd is making as much as he can so we can at least have something cold to drink. I packed up all my scrapbooks and baby pictures. D day is today. We will feel at least tropical storms winds by morning and hurricane force winds later in the day. The eye will cross early Saturday morning amd we will have hurricane/tropical storms winds for 10-12 hours. Should be interesting to see how this plays out.
We always loose power at the least little storm. The only saving grace is a cool front is on its way here. The highes will be only in the 80s next week versus 95 with a 105 heat index.
I guess next week I will sleep with a battery operated fan and ear plugs....FUN FUN!!
School is canceled until Tuesday next week. Allison is happy, but what she doesn't realize is there will be make-up days....Well back to work....Becky
